About Me

I guess I'm your typical housewife/stay-at-home-mom.  It's one of the best jobs I've ever had, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

One of the main reasons why I set up this blog, was to give myself a place where I could post all my creativeness {leaving my family blog for...well....family stuff}.  I'm not an expert at anything, but I do have a goal in improving in my everyday life.

Food:
The last couple of years I've really developed a liking to cooking & baking.  I like looking at a recipe, taking it & adapting it to my tastes.  I really like making food for others; it's just fun.  Since I've been married, I really enjoy baking-especially baking bread.  It's fun to look back at how my cooking has improved over the years {I think mostly in part to the Food Network}; I went from making Hamburer Helper 3-4 times during the week to...well....not ever using Hamburger Helper.  I've discovered how much more healthier & easier it is to make & prepare my own meals.  This helps out in me wanting to make healthier choices for myself and my family.

Photography:
I think I've always liked photography, and since I was able to get a Canon Rebel XSi, I've enjoyed it even more.  It's fun to capture those priceless moments that your children give you.  I'm slowly learning how to take better pictures, and I love reading on how to do that.

Crafting:
My husband has his videogames to de-stress; I have sewing & other crafting projects to do this.  I'm trying to venture out in trying new things, and thanks to the internet, I can see projects & do that.

Woodworking/Home Improvement:
I have a secret obsession with power tools-they're so much fun.  I can look at the Sunday ads & dream about owning some of those tools.  I may buy the tools for my husband, but I think I also buy them for myself.  It's nice to say, "Hey, I made that.  I did that."  We bought an older house {1950's} & we're slowly re-doing everything in our house.  I've learned how to tile & I actually like laying the tile down......I don't however, like the grouting part.  I'm a big fan of the air compressor.....nail guns are so much fun.
