Picnik

I'm really liking the Free program "Picnik".  It's been great to use when editing pictures {at least when I'm looking for a little bit of something}:

And now, I'm figuring how to use it when making invites or prints.

It's kinda fun making things :)

Orange Granola

I had this sort-of tasty food day dream this morning.  I had thoughts of oranges & oatmeal combining together to make a delicious granola.  I made it a reality after dinner tonight.

Orange Granola

I wanted to keep it very simple & I wanted the granola to have mucho orange flavor.

I made up a orange simple syrup that I would use as the liquid ingredient to combine the dry ingredients.

I added Oatmeal, Shredded Coconut {because my husband & I like the added crunch & texture}, and Golden Raisens {because that's what I had in my pantry}.  If I had some almonds, I think I would have added that to the bunch.

I threw everything on a greased baking sheet and baked it for about an hour.  I made sure to mix it up every 15-20 minutes to keep it from sticking.

After getting the granola to my desired color, I couldn't wait, so I grabbed a glass, and layered the granola with some vanilla yogurt.

Gah!  It tasted so good!  I was even a nice Mommy and shared the delcious treat with my two younger children.  I am very excited to eat this treat over the next couple of days :)

Enjoy!

Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls

It all started when I was {again} craving baked apples.  Like, apple pie baked apples

Then I caught an episode of "Cooking for Real" {with Sunny Anderson} where she was making this; and BAM!  This was born:

Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls

First, you've got to have some of these:

And then after, peeling & slicing & generally making a mess

You cook down the apples with some Lemon juice & brown sugar.  I decided to cook down the apples because I wasn't sure if they would have enough time to cook down while stuffed inside a roll.

I went ahead and made up some dough; rolled it out & smothered it with the yummy apples

It's important to note that your filling should be cooled down before you smother the dough with it.  If the filling doesn't cool, it'll start "melting" the dough.

When the buns were done cooking in the over, I drizzled some caramel syrup over the top {instead of cream cheese frosting-which is what I usually do with cinnamon rolls}

I liked how they turned out; therefore, it's a keeper :)

Enjoy!

Ruby Snap

I'm giddy tonight.

All because this photo:

WON me a free dozen cookies!!!  Who couldn't be made happy by free goodies!!!

RubySnap was doing a kissing contest for March, and I thought since I got this great pic, why not enter it and try and get some great cookies.

There's the Audrey that I've wanted to try
{Almond dough packed full of adoration, almonds, cranberries and white chocolate.}

Or the Judy {this one my sista loves}
{Melt in your mouth mania, a velvety orange dough full of zest}

I'll probably get a Penelope; I picked one up on my birthday and it was so delicous, especially since it was half dipped in chocolate.
{Peanut Butter Paradise! Soft, fat & moist truffle-like peanut butter cookie. We dig her dipped in chocolate}

And I hope that they have Zoey's in {there wasn't a pic on the website}, because it's Blueberry/Lemon/Poppyseed goodness didn't make me think I was eating a cookie-it was so yummy.

Yes.  I will go to bed a happy girl :)

Money Cuffs

I made something.

Yes.  I know that I make alot of things.  But when it comes to sewing, I am not a seamstress.  So when I'm able to follow a pattern/tutorial & have it come out {like it's suppose too}, then that makes me happy.

During the Celebrate the Boy over at MADE, there was a tutorial/guest blog post from Christie @ A Lemon Squeezy Home.  I knew that I wanted to make one for each of my boys, & I had some fun skull fabric leftover to do it with.
The tutorial was very easy to follow {obviously since I was able to make it}
I chose some very good velcro....that money ain't going anywhere :)

My boys love them!

Weekly Winners March 20-26

{All pictures taken with my Canon Rebel xsi}

My baby boy giving me a kiss...I love his kisses :)
My cute baby boy :)
I discovered that Spring was on her way!

Me being "Creatively Crafty".

And although I didn't "push" the button on the camera, I do take credit for setting the camera up & then editing the picture later :)  I just had to add this picture because it was an important event to our family this week.  My oldest son {he's 5 1/2} & I ran a 5k for his school to raise money.  It was an awesome time.
Another great picture to remind me how much my family supports & helps me out when I need it :)
