Rolls

Hello, My name is JeNae & I'm a carb-a-holic....

I *heart* bread.

French bread, sourdough bread, breadsticks, rolls, WW bread, the list can go on & on.

Hands down, I will always pick my Mom's rolls.  Her roll recipe is my favorite.  Yesterday I decided to make some rolls; I was taking a family some dinner and thought I should add some homebaked goodness.

Well, this recipe makes alot of rolls.  So instead of making dozens of rolls, I split it up making half rolls & the other half cinnamon rolls.  Those cinnamon rolls were sure delicious.  The rolls were fantastic as well.

The great thing about this recipe is the short time that it takes.  You could have one pan of rolls in under an hour.  Your kitchen will smell yummy.

Do you want to make some??  Here's the recipe:

Rolls

In your Mixer combine the following ingredients:

3 1/2 Cups of Warm Water
1 Cup of Oil
3/4 Cup Sugar
6 T Yeast
Let it sit for 15 minutes.  It should look like this:

Next, add:

3 Beaten Eggs
1 T Salt
4 Cups Whole Wheat Flour

Start Mixing

You are then going to add another 6-7 Cups of White Flour; or just enough flour so the dough clears the bowl.

Next, get some shortening

And grease up your hands.  It works.  You're going to take pieces of the dough {not to big} and roll them in your hand and place them on a cookie sheet {I got 15 to one sheet}.

Cover them and let them rise in a warm place for 15 minutes.  They should look like this:

In a 425 degree oven, bake the rolls for about 10 minutes; or until the tops are golden.
When you take them out of the oven, grab some butter,

And smear the tops of the rolls.

There you go...Yummy homemade rolls.

Enjoy!
